Gather round children, its time for another SoccerPro history lesson! This week's lesson is on the origin of the Three Lions on the new Umbro England 2011/12 Home Jersey.

The lions were adopted into the Royal Arms through several marriages. Both Henry I and Henry II married women with lions in their family crest, and being the respectable gentlemen they were, the Kings gladly added a lion to their family crown.

Since then, the Three Lions have been a part of the England Royal Arms, and an intricate piece of the England National Soccer Team.

The 2011 England Home Jersey contains the Umbro trademark symbol on the right chest and the official "Three Lions" crest on the left chest. This all-white jersey features crosses along the shoulders that exemplify the nation's culture.
