Baleless TottenhamAlthough many wondered what Tottenham would do after they sold their prized-possession to Real Madrid, the future actually seems brighter for Spurs now that Gareth Bale is playing in Spain! Of course, when you get such a massive influx of cash from the sale of one player, it would take a massive flop from the club management in order to NOT get better after such a sale.

Although Bale’s late game heroics will still need someone to step up in order to replace that particular aspect of the Welshman’s game, they definitely have upgraded all over the pitch. Christian Eriksen has been on many team’s radars for the past year and Tottenham were able to pick him up for a decent price. If he turns into the attacking midfielder that some speculate, he could be an upgrade over Sigurdsson and provide Spurs with a great player for a long time.

Roberto Soldado is also the sole scorer this EPL season for Tottenham, and if he can start scoring outside of the penalty spot then he will make sure that Adebayor and Defoe might have outlived their usefulness with Tottenham. Paulinho also has a massive upside in the middle of the field and you really feel like Tottenham is getting the depth necessary to challenge the top four on a consistent basis.

One of the transfers that flew under the radar was actually my favorite player during the first half against Arsenal. Almost with his first touch as a Spur, Nacer Chadli made a backheel pass that resulted in a nutmeg and a beautiful pass. He is much bigger than your typical winger, but his footwork has me being counted as a definite fan of his!

Keep an eye out for Tottenham this season as they will definitely be a better team than what they were with Gareth Bale. The team might need some time to truly come together, but the sale of Bale seems to have really bolstered the squad and AVB will definitely hope that this will push them up to the top. If Tottenham had been able to beat Arsenal in their last fixture, people might actually be talking about them challenging for the title. Their next two fixtures are relatively easy (Norwich and Cardiff) but their match against Chelsea will definitely show us the true potential of this squad.
