Messi’s signature line of boots just received another colorway update for the Argentine. The adidas Messi 15.1 has only been around since last June and we have already seen a wide variety of different color combinations to suit the likes of many different people. We’ve seen some darker colorways, some more subtle, and even a texture change on the upper in the newer colorways from the first few. This latest colorway in Semi Solar Slime/Red/Black surely cannot be missed when on the pitch.
The majority of the upper is the greenish/yellow Slime color that fades into lines back into black in the heel area giving off a little tiger stripe pattern. The bottom of the cleat continues that same pattern which is a cool little extra aesthetic bonus. The Messi ‘M’ branding fades from black down into red to make it pop on the boot. The adidas branding on the back is also red, with the only remaining bit of red being the stud tips on the sole of the cleat.
The Messi boot does not lack in technology and innovations from adidas. The MessiFrame is the external frame that is found around the laces to truly keep you locked in for your entire ride in the boot. The MessiTouch upper features the scaly design I touched on earlier that was only found on the more recent releases of the Messi 15.1. On the soleplate we find the GameTrax stud configuration that can be used on both FG and AG surfaces so it is perfect for any player that plays as many games on FG as they do on artificial ground.
