As the weather gets progressively worse outside, what better way to get through the cold days with a little inspiration straight from sunny Rio de Janeiro? Brazil is known for its colour, and adidas have attempted to capture a little bit of Brazil in the all new Samba pack, adidas’ latest collection of boots that they are boldly labelling as “the most colourful pack of boots ever launched.” The Samba pack of boots sees new colourways hit all four of adidas’ boot silos, but what is the most awesome thing about the Samba pack? It has got to be the launch of the new F50 adiZero and adiPure 11Pro! Check it all out on the Instep.
From the beaches of Bahia to the Carnival of Rio, Brazil is one of the most diverse places on the planet. Adidas have tried to bring together all the colour, energy and character of Brazil into the Samba collection. The result? A kaleidoscope of colour that will almost certainly stand out on the pitch! The Samba pack comes as the Brazil World Cup just lies on the horizon, and it is the first step on the road to the 2014 World Cup, with Brazil’s best talent such as Dani Alves, Oscar and Lucas Moura showing off the Samba collection of boots. Some of the world’s best players are also expected to be in on the act, with Lionel Messi, Gareth Bale and Mesut Ozil also expected to feature in the boots.
The energy-retaining football boot designed for the next generation of footballer as worn by Dani Alves and Ezequiel Lavezzi comes in a new visually striking lime green colourway. As a boot designed for ‘The Engine’, the player who is always running, tackling and relentlessly powering his team, the Samba Nitrocharge encourages its wearer to go Full on or be Gone. With its unique and highly elastic Energysling around the forefoot supporting sidecut and precision turn movements to sharpen reactions on the pitch, and Energypulse spring technology providing high energy push-offs and long lasting energy return when sprinting, the Nitrocharge combines new technologies to innovate the way ‘Engines’ play the beautiful game.
The all new adiZero F50, long sought after by the fastest players such as Leo Messi, Lucas Moura and Gareth Bale, empowers its players to Fly or Die with an electric sky blue colourway and a striking orange colourway. The adiZero F50 is all about precision engineering with every aspect of the boot design based around making the wearer as fast as possible on the football field, with the boot weighing in at a jaw dropping 150 grams. With features such as SPEEDTRAXION, an all-new, high speed stud alignment for maximum acceleration and pinpoint changes of direction, and SPEEDFOIL, a revolutionary material that combines lightweight, softness and durability for a comfortable, yet locked down heel fit, the Samba adiZero F50 is a boot which ensures these world class players will be faster than ever before in Brazil.
Predator LZ II
The vibrant pink colourway of the Samba Predator LZ II favoured by the likes of Oscar, Mesut Ozil and Fernando Torres instructs its wearer to Hunt or be Hunted. Designed with five distinctive ‘Lethal Zones’ of technology to deliver outstanding ball control, touch, accuracy and power, the boot is made to master every aspect of performance. While the Predator has seen it’s fair share of colourways over the years, we can almost certainly say that very few colourways are as bright as the new vibrant pink colourway.
adiPure 11Pro II
With a luxury deep purple colourway, the Samba 11Pro worn by Philipp Lahm, Hernanes and Frank Lampard retains the classic attributes that allow players to Make the Play or Make Way. With its premium, ultra-soft and ultra-light Taurus leather providing excellent fit (which also works in conjunction with the memory foam upper), performance, comfort and ball-feel. This is paired with an all new outsole with comfort frame for better pressure distribution, as well as optimised stud placement for maximum grip and acceleration. The 11Pro remains the boot of choice for the complete footballer.
The Samba collection will hit the pitch from the 9th of November, with a retail launch scheduled for the 14th of November. Over the coming week, we will take an in-depth look at the new adiZero and adiPure 11Pro to go through what has changed with the boot.
