With the world of soccer boots always changing and with there being much more to the boot world than the “big 3” that we have dominating here in America, it is always great news when a company decides to come stateside.  With there being dozens of actual soccer brands around the world however, there are a few brands that command some serious notoriety when they choose to come here.  Although Pantofolo D’oro may never leave Europe, the next best thing will be hitting the states in the form of Mizuno and their four boot roster.

Mizuno have chosen to not bring their Supersonic Wave with their initial steps here, but they have blessed the U.S. of A. with the arrival of three of their finest.  The Mizuno Morelia Neo (speed), the Mizuno Morelia Classic (heritage), and the Mizuno Wave Ignitus III (power) will now be available for all of us here in America to use.  Although the newest range of Mizuno boots have not been tested by myself, our boot-spotting expert Jordon raves about the Morelia Neo and I know that the past incarnations of the Ignitus were fantastic.  Perhaps we will be able to test the current Mizuno line-up and perhaps our friends over at SoccerPro will soon have them in stock as well.

For those of you that are not familiar with the Mizuno products, the Neo is made of a high-quality kangaroo leather upper and keeps the weight of the boot down so as to compete directly with the major speed boots on the market.  The Morelia is also made of kangaroo leather, but the build and set-up hearkens towards a classic feel and has remained unchanged for quite some time. The Ignitus has always been a highly sought after power boot option and the third version has proven to follow in line with the past releases.  Made up of a high quality synthetic and with some of the most aggressive boot tech that we have seen in years, this boot offers more intrigue than we have seen from any release in years.

Hopefully Mizuno will have success in their newest venture and it will inspire other companies to test the waters here.  The best possible thing for consumers would be for brands like Nike and Adidas to have competition to continue making high quality products and Mizuno will certainly provide stiff competition.  Will you be snagging a pair of Mizunos?  Or would you like to wait until there is more information available?  Either way, we here at the Instep are certainly hoping to test some of these great products and pass on our thoughts to you.
