Nike Lightning Storm Pack

We all know Nike is a marketing machine. For the 2014 World Cup, adidas gave all of their boots a uniform black and white Battle Pack aesthetic. Nike responded by outmaneuvering them with bright red and volt colors that positively popped out of your TV screen. Germany’s Mario Gotze scored the game winner via a deft touch with his Magista Obra and Nike wheeled away in celebration.

A year later, the Swoosh is still at it. Following the subtly spectacular Silver Storm Pack, their athletes will open the upcoming season with the brightest boots on the pitch. Let’s just say you will be able to spot the Lightning Storm Pack on TV and certainly in person. In a neon pink, green, blue, and orange, this collection might leave you shielding your eyes. How about we get to the pack?

Mercurial

Nike Mercurial Superfly Hyper Pink

They’ve done Hyper Punch, now they’re doing Hyper Pink over almost the entire boot. Nike’s Mercurial Superfly IV and Vapor X have been out well over a year now (crazy, right?), and the colors and tech they offer continue to astound. The black outlined Swoosh stretching across the upper and the black ring around the top of the Dynamic Fit Collar are wonderful color contrasts. That gorgeously iridescent soleplate will never get old either. Make sure you check out the feet of Eden Hazard, Alexis Sanchez, and so many more when the season starts.

Magista

Nike Magista Obra Turquoise Blue

The Magista is on a roll! With the impossibly classy Silver Storm colorway featuring touches of Turquoise Blue, Nike decided to paint almost the entire boot in that color for the Lightning Storm Pack, all while crucially maintaining the black tints on the upper and collar. You can find Gotze, Iniesta, and others enjoying the Flyknit, Nikeskin, and ACC combo in this colorway soon.

Tiempo

Nike Tiempo Legend V Green Strike

Green Strike adorns the heritage leather Tiempo silo. It’s an electric look that is offset slightly with black outlining the Swoosh. When the season kicks off, you will see fans of a more modern leather boot kicking it around in these. Gerard Pique and NYCFC signing Andrea Pirlo should be slipping on the Legend to begin their domestic campaign.

Hypervenom

Nike Hypervenom Phantom Green Strike

I saved the Hypervenom for last, because we got treated to two new colors today. The first is a stunning Green Strike with black that Neymar Jr. himself will lace up. It’s available July 23rd, so four days behind the rest of the pack. These will certainly stand out on Neymar’s feet when Barcelona mounts their treble defense.

Nike Hypervenom Phantom Total Orange

Then there is another orange look for the Hypervenom II. If you missed the launch colorway, this one is a similar feel, although I hope you like orange, because there is a lot more of it here. The black shapes along the outsole contribute a layer of much-needed nuance to the proceedings. This Total Orange colorway and the above Green Strike can be seen in the $200 Phinish, as well as the fantastic Phatal DF step-down, which was reviewed with aplomb by our own Henry.

Alright, what does everyone think? These neon beauties will be storming the pitch on July 23rd. Go to SoccerPro.com to pick up the Lightning Storm Pack at awesome prices when they go on sale July 19th.
