One of the most creative midfielders in the game today, Luka Modric has established himself in 2 major leagues. Growing up in the middle of the Croatian War, Modric was somehow able to have a normal childhood that included playing at a local club. While at the club, Modric was noticed by Dinamo Zagreb and joined their youth system at the age of 16. He was loaned out for 2 seasons when he was around 18 and returned to the Croatian giants, a much more mature and established player. He signed a 10-year contract with Dinamo after his return and was a huge help in the 2 league titles and 2 Croation league clubs.

He then moved over to Tottenham for a then club record fee of 16.5 million pounds. He flourished at the club and became one of the top midfielders in the Premier League. His attacking style of play helped strikers and midfielders score more goals by pushing the ball up the pitch more. In 2011, he tried to force a move to London rivals Chelsea but Tottenham would not oblige to the transfer so Modric was forced to stay another season.
