Alexis Sanchez’s story is truly a rags to riches tale. Sanchez grew up in a poor single-floor home in Tocopilla, Chile with his mother, sisters, and brother. When he was 6 years old, He would perform in the street for money. When he grew older, he washed cars and pushed carts for money as well. At a young age, he played soccer barefoot in the streets to escape the mines where most men in his town worked. Alexis progressed through the nearby team Cobreloa’s youth system. While on the first team, he was spotted by Udinese from the Serie A, who purchased him for 1.7 million pounds.

In the 2010-11 season, Sanchez had a break out season scoring 12 goals in 33 appearances for the club. That’s when Alexis was purchased by Barcelona for 25 million pounds. He was a huge success at the Catalonian Club especially in his final season with the club netting 19 goals in 34 La Liga appearances. This last summer, Alexis was transferred to Arsenal in a shock move for 30-35 million pounds. He has found huge success at the club so far.
