The latest signing for Chelsea FC, Diego Costa has seen his fame rise immensely over the past few seasons. Starting his senior career off at Portuguese club Braga, Costa was signed by Atletico Madrid a year later. Costa spent the next threes seasons on loan at Braga, Celta, and Albacete before signing at La Liga side Valladolid without ever playing a game for Atletico Madrid. He scored 8 goals in 32 games for the club but unfortunately Valladolid was relegated that season. Atletico Madrid brought him back the following season and backed up strikers like Sergio Aguero, Diego Forlan, and Radamel Falcao over the next few seasons. Finally getting his chance to become the lone striker for Atletico Madrid, Costa helped win the La Liga title and finish runner-up in the UEFA Champions League last season, all while netting 27 league goals.
Costa is widely regarded as a traitor in his home country, because he chose to play for Spain instead of playing for his birth nation Brazil in the 2014 World Cup.
