Part of the new Womens World Champion US Womens National Team, Rapinoe has been around the national team for almost 10 years. In her college days at Portland, Rapinoe started every game as a freshmen and only managed to be behind one woman in points, Canadian star Christine Sinclair. She scored 15 goals and assisted 13 that season in which the Pilots went on to the national championship. Injuries plagued the rest of her college career even though she was able to make an impact on the team. She was able to stay one more season at Portland due to sitting out with a knee injury but decided to turn pro.
She was then drafted to the Chicago Red Stars and was a hit with the team but the team only lasted 2 seasons and Rapinoe moved on. Her stay in Philadelphia was brief before finding a home at Magicjack before the 2011 World Cup. Now she is one of the star players on the Seattle Reign.
