2020 has been a pretty impressive year for one of US Soccer's up and doming teenagers. Just over a year ago Llanez signed contract with Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg. Playing with the U19 side, he has cored an impressive 11 goals and laid on six more in only 16 matches. This would lead to Llanez' first USMNT berth in which he would play 73 minutes and score the only goal of the match against Costa Rica. Fast forward a bit and COVID-19 would abruptly halt sporting seasons and life in general. Pauses like this can wreak havoc on young talent, but for Llanez, it would become an opportunity. As the Bundesliga restarts the 19/20 season Uly Llanez has been promoted to the first team.
