The path to sustainable football is officially here! adidas is partnering with Parley for the Oceans for a collection of boots that are made from a series of recycled ocean plastics and factory materials. While this may not sound like it’s a big deal, this is a huge step towards making the beautiful game more sustainable and eco friendly.

Parley for the Oceans is one of the world’s most well-known non profit environmental organizations that works hard to protect our planet’s oceans. Parley and adidas have had a long standing relationship that has seen several collaborations from leagues like the MLS to running shoes and now into the world of boot design.

Wondering what makes these boots so sustainable? Parley and adidas have worked hard to retrieve plastics found throughout our world’s oceans in an effort to preserve and protect wildlife. This collaboration uses these ocean plastics as the base material source for both the upper and the sole plate of the boots, making them more sustainable than ever. Plastic rings and caps are converted into yarn and dyed with natural and more sustainable materials, helping you reduce your carbon footprint and allowing you to play in style.

These boots take a more subtle approach to style with a completely white upper and sole plate design. However, Preloved Blue stitched makes its way throughout all three silos offering a subtle yet still super stylish design that will make sustainability a trend.

As we mentioned all three silos; Predator Accuracy, Copa Pure, and X Speedportal are taking part in this collaboration. The Copa Pure features a synthetic leather upper design that offers the same flexible and soft feeling as its traditional leather design, but in a more sustainable route. PrimeKnit on the X Speedportal and Predator Accuracy has been engineered with recycled PET bottle yarn ensuring that every aspect of the boot is home to sustainable design.
