Leicester continues it’s march towards the title, Barcelona stumbled in Spain, while Andy Carroll threw his name into the hat for the England squad at the EUROs (speaking of, give that man a hat to cover his awful hipster-topknot-meets-Jar Jar Binks haircut). But here we are on a Monday to review this week’s biggest boot spots. We have a lot of cracking custom spots this week, as well as your usual boot switches as well. Check out the big spots that caught our eye this week.

Blaise Matuidi (PSG) – Nike Magista Obra Camo

Blaise Matuidi PSG camo Obra edited

It was Jamie Vardy who debuted the Nike Camo Pack to the world, but Matuidi gains the honor of being the first professional in the Camo Pack Magista Obra. The midfielder, who is expected to shine at the EUROs later this year, brought the boot out for the El Cashico clash between PSG and Manchester City, and the boots certainly look really dark from the distance and are a little hard to distinguish. That is the point of camouflage I suppose…

Keisuke Honda (AC Milan) – Mizuno Wave Ignitus III

Keisuke Honda AC Milan Wave Ignitus III edited

If there is a new Wave Ignitus colourway that is meant to come out, you can trust Keisuke Honda being the first to wear the new boots. And while Mizuno have come out with some pretty suave colourways this season (the black and white boot was simply stunning), they have certainly taken a different approach with their latest offering. The yellow and green colourway looks to have been made to stand out on the pitch, and is definitely a boot that would match with the Norwich home kit (or maybe Australia for that matter).

Nguyen Anh Doc (Becamex) – adidas Gloro 16.1

Nguyen Anh Duc Becamex Gloro 161 edited

How good is it to see a player opting for the heritage-inspired Gloro 16.1? And it is just that little bit better when you realise Nguyen Anh Doc has even gone as far as matching the Red/White Gloro 16.1 with his Becamex kit. The new Gloro 16.1 sees adidas ditch the fold-over tongue that was on the preceding 15.1, and it certainly makes the boot look like a hybrid of the Gloro 15.1 and the old adiPure 11Pro III.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Borussia Dortmund) – Nike Mercurial Superfly IV (Custom)

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Dortmund custom SF IV edited

These. Are. Freaking. Awesome. A strong contender for the coolest boot of the season, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang certainly showed his love for Borussia Dortmund with his customised Superfly IVs during Dortmund’s Revierderby against Schalke. These are not your ordinary NikeiD customisation though, we have a feeling that Aubameyang has sought the help of an artist for his creation. It is a pity Aubameyang only came on as a substitute for Dortmund, as it meant we hardly got to see his boots on the pitch…

Roman Eremenko (CSKA Moscow) – adidas adiPure 11Pro (Custom)

Roman Eremenko CSKA Moscow adipure 11Pro III custom edited

Talking about boot and kit coordination, that seems to be a running theme through our boot spotting today. Roman Eremenko has gone for something very different with his customised adiPure 11Pro boots, matching up his boots perfectly with the CSKA Moscow home kit. It is pretty hard to find blue and orange boots (I cannot seem to think of a single pair of orange and red boots that have been released in the past few years), so credit to Eremenko for putting in the effort and customizing his 11Pros to match his kit.

David Bicik (Sparta Prague) – Nike Tiempo Legend VI (Custom)

David Bicik Sparta Prague Nike Tiempo VI custom edited

Whiteout boots, it is hard to sometimes find much better. However, David Bicik was faced with a slight problem: the Tiempo Legend VI is yet to be released in whiteout model. He did find a way around the problem though, as he managed to whiteout his Tiempo VI using the original release colourway as his base. Nike do release blackout boots from time to time, but never normally whiteout boots, so sadly, whiteouts like this are unlikely to hit the general market…

Jonathan Pitroipa (Al Nasr) – Nike Mercurial Superfly IV (Custom)

Jonathan Pitroipa Al Nasr custom SF IV edited

Creating your own NikeiD boots goes a lot further than it used to, while only solid colours used to only be available, you can now have the choice of some cool patterns on the upper of your boots. Jonathan Patroipa found that out when he made his custom pair of Superfly IVs. His boots feature the stunning Liquid Swift graphic, and the combination of blue and black certainly creates a spectacular looking boot!
