MDS004- Re-Entry
It is no surprise that the Dream Speed series have been a huge success for Nike over the last couple years and Chapter 4 does not disappoint! Each preceding Dream Speed chapter has had its own exciting storyline and were built to the exact specifications of CR7 himself. Chapter 4 takes a new approach this time around because they are inspired by the dreams of CR7.
Inspired by Ronaldo’s Dreams
It comes as absolutely no surprise that Ronaldo dreams of space travel because he comes from another planet. The Quote: “Dreams are not what you see in your sleep, dreams are things which do not let you sleep.” The title Re-Entry is a nod to the fiery look of a space capsule re-entering the Earth’s atmosphere.
Space Vibes
There are a lot of really cool features on MDS004 that are associated with space travel and the crafts used to get there. The most obvious feature is the bold gradient making these cleats look really fire.(this time literally). Then there are those subtle features that Nike does so well, and the attention to detail is pretty mesmerizing on this current version. A re-worked MDS004 font is found on the back of the heels that is very NASA-esque and the whole shoe is based on a spacesuit grey color. Next we have details that have to do with the crafts that are used for space travel with gold elements and checkerd “decals” found on the upper. Gold is a common conductor in space crafts, and a golden Swoosh and Speed Wings really stand out on this version of the Superfly 8. The last subtle (but incredible!) feature is the hidden iridescent secondary Swoosh can be found under the golden one and it can only be seen at the correct angle and light!
STILL BUILT FOR SPEED
This is the first Dream Speed for the Superfly 8, and it is clear that speed is still in the minds of the folks over at Nike. Even with a completely new construction with a 7-layer upper that has some space-age technology itself with the Vaporposite upper with compartmentalized technology for different parts of the foot. All of it is based an a freshly updated AeroTrac soleplate that has a spine connecting both sole plates for extra speed on liftoff.
Stellar Speed
