The boot world in 2017 feels slightly like standing in a footwear monsoon. The hits just keep on coming as even the big brands have started giving us boot updates on a nearly daily basis. Nike’s biggest and latest boot in the HyperVenom 3 is now in its third colorway after only being on the market for barely over a month. Despite the launch color being able to compete with the sun in terms of brightness and ability to blind if you stare too long, Nike has now given us a colorway that we can all get behind in the new set-up of Black/Metallic Silver/Orange called Strike Night.
The Nike HyperVenom Phantom, both the Dynamic Fit version and non-DF option, is an incredible boot. Flyknit only keeps improving and Nike has definitely hit their stride with the third incarnation of this boot. Adding a knockout colorway only ups the ante for a boot that will definitely be involved once 2017 comes to a close and we start compiling a list of boots for Boot of the Year.
A blackout is always a winner, but, in the true nature of the HyperVenom, Nike has added in a few flashes of color to make the boot pop. The Swoosh found on the forefoot and on the heel will be dripping with silver while the Flywire attachments are attached in a bright orange. There are small additions that take advantage of those same colors (ACC and the heel in metallic silver/soleplate forefoot and the HyperVenom callout on the heel in bright orange).
If you’re hunting down a boot that has one of the biggest striking surfaces available, this is your boot. If you’re looking to find a boot that derives an elite fit, high level of comfort, and impressive padded touch through the miracle of Flyknit, then look no farther. If you enjoy soleplates that are responsive while being flexible, (once again) the HyperVenom will check all the boxes.
Most fans of a conservative colorway need to sit around for a colorway or two before they can dive into a new boot. When the HyperVenom 3 launched, we’re sure that a ton of players avoided the boot simply because of the gaudy colorway that would have ended up on their feet. Now, especially with the Black/Metallic Silver/Orange and Tech Craft versions also available, the HyperVenom is now a perfect option for any type of player with any type of sensibility. We can’t suggest this boot enough….Nike can still plant their flag at the top of the mountain, because they are still king of the hill.
Along with the Nike Hypervenom Strike Night launch, the Swoosh is putting on a head-to-head finishing competition also called Strike Night. The event will be streamed live on Facebook on March 1st at 1:45 PM EST. You can see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, and more compete to be recognized as the best finisher. Get your bets in now.
